Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how H. Smith Travel Collective LLC, doing business as Wanderlust Travel by Heather Smith ("Wanderlust Travel," "I," "me" or "my"), collects, uses and protects the information you share through this website. I'm a small, independent travel advisor, and I treat your information the way I'd want mine treated.

1. What I collect

Information you give me. When you fill out a trip request, mystery trip request, Passport Party request, duck check-in or contact form, I collect what you choose to share. That usually includes your name, email address, phone number, travel dates, departure airport, budget, who's traveling (including the ages of any children), travel preferences any notes you add and any photos you choose to upload.

Information stored on your own device. Some features remember things only in your browser, on your phone or computer. These include your packing list checkmarks, an unfinished trip request form and which 7-7-7 deals tab you looked at last. That information never leaves your device and I can't see it. Clearing your browser data removes it.

Basic website information. Like most websites, my web host may automatically log technical details such as your browser type and the pages you visit, for security and to keep the site running.

2. How I use your information

I use your information to plan, price and reserve your trip, to answer your questions, to send you trip details and reminders, and to follow up about travel you've asked me about. I don't sell or rent your personal information, and I don't share it with anyone for their own marketing.

3. Who I share it with

Travel suppliers. When you ask me to reserve travel, I share only the details needed to secure it with the companies providing it, such as resorts, cruise lines, airlines, tour operators, transfer companies and travel insurance providers. Each supplier handles your information under its own privacy policy.

Gateway Travel. I'm partnered with Gateway Travel, and reservation details may be shared with them to process and support your reservation.

Service providers. I use trusted services to run my business, such as my website host and form provider, which receives the requests you submit, and my email and trip planning tools. They may only use your information to provide those services to me.

When required. I may share information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of my clients, my business or others.

4. Affiliate links and other websites

Some pages link to other companies, including Amazon and Resort for a Day. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases, and I may earn a commission from other partners, at no extra cost to you. When you click one of those links, that company may use cookies to track your visit and purchase, under its own privacy policy. I don't control and am not responsible for other websites.

5. Children's information

This website is for adults planning travel. It isn't directed to children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect information directly from them. When a parent or guardian shares a child's name or age to plan a family trip, I use it only for that trip.

6. How long I keep it and how I protect it

I keep your information as long as I need it to plan and support your travel, to keep required business records and to follow the law. I take reasonable steps to protect it, but no website or email system can be guaranteed completely secure.

7. Your choices

You can ask me to see, correct or delete the personal information I have about you, or to stop sending you travel emails, at any time. Some information may need to be kept for legal or record-keeping reasons, such as records of completed reservations. Just email me and I'll take care of it.

8. Changes to this policy

If I update this policy, I'll post the new version here with a new "last updated" date.
